Percentage of sales donated to perserve cultural heritage (read more below)

Our ancestors passed down stories, symbols, songs, and skills through generations, only for much of that heritage to be treated as something outdated, unimportant, or unworthy of preservation. in todays world. Every nation seems to become a copy of the other, where uniqueness is traded in with minimalism and basicness.

Cultural heritage is often celebrated in speeches and tourism campaigns, meanwhile the people keeping these traditions alive don't always receive the recognition, funding, or support they deserve.

Folk the System is a little wearable rebellion against that.

It's a reminder that our differences are worth celebrating. Folk art isn't just something to admire behind museum glass, traditions aren't relics of the past, but living things that deserve to evolve, flourish, and be passed on.

We don't need a world where every country looks, sounds, and feels the same. We need one where cultures can thrive without losing what makes them unique.

So sip your folklore, learn your history, support your local craftspeople, and keep those old stories alive, and inspire others to do the same!

DONATION

* With every purchase from the Folk the System collection, 1% of sales will go towards Eesti Rahvakunsti ja Käsitöö Liit (Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union).

For those who don't know, I'm from Estonia, a small country in Northern Europe with a rich cultural heritage that I'm incredibly proud of. It's also why preserving folk traditions is something so close to my heart.

Founded in 1929, Eesti Rahvakunsti ja Käsitöö Liit is an Estonian non-profit dedicated to preserving and promoting our traditional crafts and cultural heritage. They organize exhibitions, workshops, support local craftspeople, and help ensure that traditional skills and knowledge continue to be passed down to future generations.

I believe preserving cultural heritage should be a greater public priority. These traditions are part of what makes our cultures unique, and the responsibility of keeping them alive shouldn't fall so heavily on the shoulders of passionate individuals, craftspeople, and small organizations.

I hope to see a future where cultural heritage receives the recognition and consistent public funding it deserves, so that the people dedicating their lives to preserving it can focus on their work rather than worrying about how to sustain it.

Every three months, I'll donate 1% of the collection's sales and share proof of the donation here on my social media, so you can see exactly where our contributions are going.

And while I've chosen to support an organization here in Estonia, I really encourage you to look into the people and organizations preserving cultural heritage wherever you're from. Whether it's supporting local artisans, attending traditional festivals, learning an endangered craft, volunteering, or simply listening to the stories of older generations, there are so many ways to help keep these traditions alive.

And to everyone who has purchased something, shared my work, or helped spread the message: thank you.  You're not only helping an independent artist continue creating, but also contributing to the preservation of the very traditions that inspired this collection.

It's a small contribution from each sale, but together, it's something meaningful.
