Text in card:
Lilith is a figure whose origins and history span various cultures and time periods, primarily known from Jewish folklore and mythological traditions. She is often depicted as a powerful and enigmatic figure, associated with themes of independence, strength, and the subversion of traditional roles.
In the earliest references, Lilith appears in Mesopotamian texts as a class of demons. However, she gained significant prominence in Jewish mysticism, particularly in the Alphabet of Ben Sira, a medieval Jewish text. Here, Lilith is portrayed as the first wife of Adam, created equally from the earth.
'While God created Adam, who was alone, He said, 'It is not good for man to be alone. He also created a woman, from the earth, as He had created Adam himself, and called her Lilith. Adam and Lilith immediately began to fight. She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.' Lilith responded, 'We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the earth. But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the air."
Her refusal to submit to Adam's authority and her subsequent departure from the Garden of Eden underscore her role as a symbol of independence and defiance against patriarchal norms.
May this amulet endow you with strength, shield you from harm, and illuminate your path with wisdom and courage. In the embrace of Lilith's fierce energy, may you find the freedom to be your truest self, the resilience to overcome any challenge, and the grace to walk through life with unyielding confidence and authenticity.
