In 1487, two inquisitors published a book called Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Witches). It became the go-to manual for persecuting women across Europe, labeling them as witches. Disguised as theology, it was basically a medieval burn book: paranoid, cruel, and wildly imaginative in its hatred. It warned of women who “surpass men in wickedness,” who are “more carnal than a man,” and who “deceive, seduce, and destroy.”

While the original book was full of fear and hysteria, there’s something strangely iconic about how it described women: irresistible, chaotic, supernatural. Somewhere along the line, the insults started to sound like compliments. And aren’t the villains always more dynamic, more interesting, more relatable?

The witch trials were a brutal and horrifying part of history. While it was written to destroy, silence, and control, time has twisted its legacy. Now it carries an air of power, unity, and dark humor.

This jacket is intended to be a soft rebellion, and a symbol of unity.

This jacket is designed as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to old-school biker clubs, it flips their most iconic slogan into “Bad to the Broom.” The embroidery features three witches riding brooms, with Malleus Maleficarum stitched across the back. The established date is 1487, the year that the book was written.

While it looks and feels like classic denim, this jacket is actually made from a soft, lightweight blend of 97% cotton and 3% viscose. It's breathable, flexible, and doesn’t feel stiff or heavy like traditional denim.

Both models are usually size M, wearing the jacket here in size M.

Available in two coven-approved colors: red and baby-pink.
And yes, it has pockets, because not adding them would be a hate crime in itself.

Jacket size M. Model usual size S/M, she is 175cm (5'7)

With each order there are two freebies added as a small thank you! These are an art print of the original Malleus Maleficarum illustration in size A6, and an exclusive pin!

Malleus Maleficarum Art Print in size 10x15cm / 4x6 inches
Enamel pin sample. Red outline to indicate how it will be cut.

By purchasing this jacket, you’re not just adding a gossip worthy piece to your wardrobe, you’re also supporting a small independent business. It brings me immense joy to bring this wearable piece of art to life.

The Malleus Maleficarum was written to isolate, accuse, and condemn. But centuries later, it’s become something else entirely: a strange thread of connection. Maybe when you see someone else wearing this jacket, you’ll feel it too — that quiet sense of recognition, shared defiance and togetherness.

Each order also comes with a free Malleus Maleficarum art print (see below) and exclusive pin that I will share more about when the project reaches its goal!

So go on — give in to your temptations and join the club.
