🦇 Portraying three women proudly riding broomsticks, the piece satirically mirrors the motorcycle club culture, specifically drawing inspiration from the Hells Angels and their motto "bad to the bone." which here becomes "bad to the broom". By reimagining the women as members of a witch's coven or a broomstick-riding club, I seek to transform a symbol of oppression into a lighthearted celebration of feminine power and friendship, attempting to take back the narrative, turning a dark chapter of history into a symbol of unity, and fun.
"All wickedness is but little to the wickedness of a woman... What else is woman but a foe to friendship, an inescapable punishment, a necessary evil, a natural temptation, a desirable calamity, domestic danger, a delectable detriment, an evil nature, painted with fair colors!" - Malleus Maleficarum, 1486
