Nyx. Goddess of the night in Greek Mythology. She is a primordial goddess and her birthplace was not on Earth but in Gaia. It is said that she was created near the beginning of time.
Nyx is a very unique goddess. She can impact mankind in a good or bad way with her ability to bring either sleep or death unto to the human race. Zeus even feared Nyx because she was older and stronger than him in fact she is the only goddess he’s ever feared. That speaks volumes of her power.
As a Protogeno Nyx is a mother to many deities. With Erebus she conceived Moirae the three fates, Aither the light, Hemera the day, Hypnos the sleep and Thanatos the death.
Her home is a gloomy house located in Tartarus in the depths of Hades' underworld. During the day Nyx stays home take care of her many spirited children. In the evening every day she leave her home to start her nightly journey. The travels cover the day with darkness to allow the world to rest.
